Another fun thing I've been hammering out...

You're sayin' things that can't come free,
he told you what you thought you'd need.

You don't think you need this love,
forgot what you got from this love.
All this, this duplicity,
a masquerade that ain't worth its fee.

Down in the garden,
choking to flee captivity.
Drowning in a promise,
you can't see what is this you have done!

The viper's got you within reach,
slimy, shiny, slithering.
Coiling down around your feet,
now there's no place for you and me.
